Aphasia. This is a language disorder caused by brain damage as a result of a stroke of trauma, in areas that are responsible for language. Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Men and women; 2. Dutch speaking; 3. 20 years and older; 4. ≥ 6 months post onset of aphasia; 5. Diagnosed as aphasic by a speech and language therapist; 6. Recovered enough to be able to understand and answer questions with aid of pictograms, verbal and non-verbal communication.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Global aphasia or Wernicke's aphasia; 2. Score of 0-5 score on the ‘comprehension’ scale of the Frenchay Aphasia Screening Test (FAST, Enderby 1987); 3. Aphasic as a result of of a brain tumor; 4. Severe cognitive decline or mental health problems.

Measure	Time frame
The Frenchay Aphasia Screening Test (FAST) will be executed to measure the aphasia severity and type. The Social network Inventory of Sarah Blackstone will be executed to map the social network of the participants.	—
