Interventions

Increased physical exercise intervention. Patient and relatives receive physical exercise advice from the oncology nurse. It is adviced that patients practice moderate intensive physical exercise (e.g
the physical exercise intervention should be practiced at home without supervision. The patients in the control group receive normal care without the intervention.

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients with a prostate carcinoma qualify for participation in the research if they receive a treatment for: - external radiotherapy, stage T2-T3 - palliative hormonal therapy - palliative chemotherapy between January and December 2017 in Franciscus Gasthuis

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Insufficient ability to speak Dutch 2. Patients with a phyiscal disorder that strongly limits the possibility for physical exercises (e.g. Parkison's disease, wheel chair), as judged by the research coordinator. 3. Patients receiving active treatment for a second tumor 4. Patients in imprisonment

MeasureTime frame
The intervention is focussed on prevention and/or reduction of physical condition loss and tiredness during the treatment.

Secondary

Improved quality of life.
