Interventions

A 4 week preconditioning program prior to the start of a traditional running training program. The preconditioning program includes walking three times a week and hopping exercises during two walking

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Healthy novice runners between 18 and 65 years of age.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Running experience in the last 12 months prior to the start of the study; 2. No injury of the lower limb or lower back in the past 3 months prior to start of the study; 3. Absolute contraindications for vigourous physicla activities according to the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM).

The incidence of running related injuries.

1. The severity of running related injuries; 2. The compliance of the training program; 3. The compliance of running in the consecutive year.
