Detailed description

Background/Objective: This study investigated the therapeutic potential of pomegranate peel powder (PPP), a polyphenol- and antioxidant-rich ingredient, incorporated into whole-wheat muffins at doses of 1.5 g and 2.5 g for patients with gastric ulcers. The study assessed its potential effects on H. pylori infection, gastric inflammation, oxidative stress, and mucosal healing. Conclusion: PPP-enriched muffins were evaluated as a functional dietary intervention with potential gastroprotective, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory properties, supporting their possible role in dietary management of gastric ulcers.

* Both male and female patients aged 40-60 years with confirmed Helicobacter pylori infection, verified through stool antigen testing along with elevated pepsinogen I and II levels, were included in the study
