large angle exotropia is a challenging to treat surgically .40 patients will be randomized into 2 groups and followed for 6 months to assess alignment and success rate

Patients will be randomly assigned to 1 of 2 surgical intervention arms

Inclusion criteria

1. Patients with large angle exotropia more than 50 prism diopters. 2. No previous squint surgery.

Exclusion criteria

1. Patients with severe ocular surface diseases as ocular cicatricial pemphigoid and severe dry eye. 2. Severe systemic illness that prevents general anesthesia
