Brief summary
Oral squamous cell carcinoma is a major public health problem , especially in West Asian countries. Cyclin D1 accelerates cell cycle and thus may be implicated in uncontrolled cellular proliferation and tumor progression.
Detailed description
Oral squamous cell carcinoma is a major public health problem in different parts of the world. Despite marvelous improvement in treatment modalities -surgical approaches, chemotherapy and radiotherapy- the overall survival ad disease-free survival remain unchanged. so, there a need for studying tumor biology and micro environment. Cyclin D1 is a protein which enhances cell cycle through binding with cyclin-dependent kinases. Over expression of Cyclin D1 may by responsible for the aggressive behavior of oral squamous cell carcinoma through uncontrolled cellular proliferation. in current study, we have detected Cyclin D1 expression in 34 cases of oral squamous cell carcinoma. We detected relationship between intensity of expression and certain parameters as tumor grade, lymphovascular and perineural invasion.

Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame | Description |
|---|---|---|
| immunohistochemical expression of Cyclin D1 in Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma | 6 months | detection of both intensity staining and tumor cells percentage of Cyckin D1 in studied cases of Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma, and then relate intensity and percentage of Cyclin D1 with patients' ages, sexes, tumor grade, tumor site , lymphovascular invasion and perineural invasion. |
