Brief summary

This randomized controlled trial evaluated the effect of an interactive demonstration-based cyber health education intervention on digital health literacy and information security awareness among high school students. Two public high schools were randomly assigned to the intervention and control groups. Students in the intervention group received a three-week education program consisting of one 30-40-minute session per week. The program included interactive presentations, demonstrations, scenario-based activities, group discussions, and question-and-answer sessions focusing on digital health literacy and information security. Students in the control group continued their routine school education without receiving the intervention during the study period. Intervention model description

Two public high schools were randomized at the school level, with one school assigned to the intervention arm and the other to the control arm. Students received the intervention according to their school's assigned study arm.

Inclusion criteria

* Being enrolled as a 10th- or 11th-grade student at one of the high schools included in the study. * Being within the specified age range. * Volunteering to participate in the study. * Providing informed assent to participate in the study. * Providing written informed consent from a parent or legal guardian. * Being able to complete the study questionnaires and participate in the educational sessions.

Exclusion criteria

* Not providing student assent or parental/legal guardian consent. * Having a condition that prevents participation in the educational sessions or completion of the data collection forms. * Being absent during the baseline assessment or educational intervention.

Change in Digital Health LiteracyBaseline, immediately after the 3-week intervention, and 4 weeks after the interventionDigital health literacy will be assessed using the Turkish version of the eHealth Literacy Scale (eHEALS). The scale consists of 8 scored items rated on a 5-point Likert scale, yielding a total score ranging from 8 to 40. Higher scores indicate higher levels of eHealth literacy. Changes in total scores will be evaluated across the study assessment points.
