Optical and ultrasound biometry will be done for Patients who will undergo pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) and silicon oil injection preoperative and post operative 1 month
Detailed description
Optical and ultrasound biometry will be done for Patients who will undergo PPV and silicon oil injection preoperative and post operative 1 month , patients will be subdevided into 2 groups PPV with silicon oil tamponade and another group phacovitrectomy with silicon oil tamponade for assesment of postoperative refraction

Inclusion criteria
* patients with clinical diagnosis of retinal detachment (RD) * planned for pars plana vitrectomy with silicon oil tamponade
Exclusion criteria
* previous intraocular surgery * failed optical biometry acquisition * recurrent RD * combined scleral buckle surgery
