Exercise Performance Recovery
Conditions
Brief summary
This study will examine the independent and combined effects of creatine and carbohydrate supplementation on exercise performance, compared to placebo.
Interventions
Creatine monohydrate supplementation 0.5 grams every 20 minutes
carbohydrate supplementation 5 grams every 20 minutes
Creatine supplementation of 0.5 grams and carbohydrate supplementation of 5 grams every 20 minutes.
Flavored water every 20 minutes

Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
* healthy (i.e. no known cardiovascular disease) * nonsmoking * active (regular physical activity ≥150 minutes per week of aerobic exercise and have a VO2 peak ≥35 ml/kg-min) * a normal BMI (18.5 - 35 kg/m\^2) * between ages 18-40 years old
Exclusion criteria
* previously taken creatine and/or any other dietary supplement that may interfere with exercise performance
