Brief summary

Flexor tendon repair is commonly performed to restore hand function after tendon injuries. Different rehabilitation techniques are used to improve range of motion, grip strength, and functional outcomes. This randomized controlled trial compares the effects of myofascial release and hand mobilization following flexor tendon repair. Thirty participants are randomly allocated into two groups. Outcomes include wrist range of motion, grip strength, and the QuickDASH questionnaire. Detailed description

This randomized controlled trial aims to compare the effectiveness of myofascial release and hand mobilization following flexor tendon repair. Thirty participants who underwent flexor tendon repair will be randomly assigned into two equal groups. Group A will receive a hand mobilization program in addition to the conventional rehabilitation program. Group B will receive myofascial release in addition to the conventional rehabilitation program. Treatment will be provided according to the study protocol. Outcome measures include wrist range of motion (flexion, extension, radial deviation, and ulnar deviation), grip strength measured using a hand dynamometer, and upper limb function assessed using the QuickDASH questionnaire. Assessments will be performed before treatment and after completion of the rehabilitation program. The study aims to determine whether one intervention provides superior clinical outcomes compared with the other.

OTHERMyofascial Release

Myofascial release is a manual therapy technique applied after flexor tendon repair as part of the rehabilitation program. The technique aims to improve soft tissue mobility, reduce myofascial restrictions, enhance wrist and hand range of motion, and improve functional outcomes.

OTHERHand Mobilization

Hand mobilization is a rehabilitation technique applied after flexor tendon repair to improve tendon gliding, wrist and hand range of motion, and functional recovery.

Intervention model description

Participants will be randomly assigned to one of two parallel intervention groups. One group will receive hand mobilization with conventional rehabilitation, while the other group will receive myofascial release with conventional rehabilitation.

Inclusion criteria

* The subject selection will be based on the following criteria: * 20-45years of age * Post-flexor tendon repair surgery in zone 2 within 2-4 weeks * Ability to understand and follow study instructions * Willingness to participate in the rehabilitation program

Exclusion criteria

* Potential participants will be excluded if they meet one of the following criteria: * Severe joint deformities or arthritis in the wrist or hand * Infections or other complications related to the tendon repair * History of neurological disorders or conditions affecting hand function * Non-compliance or contraindications to manual therapy
