* cervical or thoracic ESCC * received esophagectomy * preoperative stage T2-3 * no viable multiple lesions * received McKeown esophagectomy

Exclusion criteria

* Incomplete clinical materials

Infiltration patternPostoperatively, based on the pathological results of the specimen. Usually, the results will be reported within one month after surgery.Direct infiltration length of ESCC beyond macroscopic margin and multiple lesions of ESCC.
