* cervical or thoracic ESCC * received esophagectomy * preoperative stage T2-3 * no viable multiple lesions * received McKeown esophagectomy
Exclusion criteria
* Incomplete clinical materials

| Infiltration pattern | Postoperatively, based on the pathological results of the specimen. Usually, the results will be reported within one month after surgery. | Direct infiltration length of ESCC beyond macroscopic margin and multiple lesions of ESCC. |
