Brief summary

The study involves recording personal, clinical, and instrumental information. The acquisition of the above-mentioned personal and clinical information will be carried out in conjunction with the usual follow-up visits scheduled as part of normal clinical practice. At the end of the study, a statistical analysis of the data will be carried out.

Detailed description

Patients will be asked to participate in the prospective observational study after being fully informed of its objectives and how they will be pursued. Patient compliance is made official by signing the informed consent form. Patients will then undergo nerve conduction tests and electromyography, as appropriate, and ultrasound evaluation as per clinical practice. Prior to the above diagnostic investigations, patients will perform a neurological examination to assess the distribution and severity of neuropat

Interventions

OTHERperipheral neuropathies

the neurophysiological study aimed at studying the function of nerves and nerve ultrasound to evaluate its morphological appearance will be performed. Depending on the outcome of the tests carried out, further blood tests will be ordered to identify the causes of neuropathy and identify the most effective treatment where available.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frameDescription
record of all diagnosed peripheral neuropathiesthrough study completion, an average of 1 yearThe primary objective of the study is to make a record of all diagnosed peripheral neuropathies that systematically includes and collects demographic and clinical data (including data on diagnostic methods of an electrophysiological, imaging and laboratory nature) most relevant for the diagnostic and prognostic definition of such diseases.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
assess the additional role of ultrasound in the diagnosis of diseases of the peripheral nervous systemthrough study completion, an average of 1 year
Identifying ultrasound parameters of disease severity and/or treatment responsethrough study completion, an average of 1 year
