Inclusion criteria

* a diagnosis of ruptured tumor confirmed by enhanced computed tomography (CT) and/or abdominal magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), * a diagnosis of HCC made by two experienced pathologists

Exclusion criteria

* extrahepatic HCC metastasis * death within 1 month after surgery
