* Written informed consent * metastatic renal cell carcinoma (a clear-cell/ not clear-cell) * Progression to previous treatment with tyrosine kinase inhibitors * Patients candidates for II-line therapy with Nivolumab (or tyrosine kinase inhibitors-in the control arm)
