* singleton pregnancy * at term * cephalic presentation * spontaneous labor * spontaneous vaginal delivery

Exclusion criteria

* multiple gestation * preterm gestation * induced labor * operative delivery * hypertension or preeclampsia * fetal anomaly * abnormal placentation * planned cord blood banking * maternal bleeding disorder
