Inclusion criteria
* adult patients * American Society of Anesthesiologists Physical Status Ⅰor Ⅱ * scheduled for potentially hemorrhagic major hepatic resection under general anesthesia * requiring an arterial line
Exclusion criteria
* coagulopathy * hemoglobinopathy * cardiac dysrhythmias * arrhythmia * intracardiac shunt * heart valve diseases * tinea unguium * arterio puncture failure
