Inclusion criteria

* Diagnosis of epilepsy and normal neurological examination. * Patients receiving lamotrigine or valproic acid at stable doses in monotherapy initiated 2 -4 months before.

Exclusion criteria

* Pregnant or lactating women. * Previous treatment with lamotrigine or valproic acid. * Secondary epilepsy.
