Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Diagnosed with type 2 diabetes mellitus and taking medication for at least 6 months 2. Able to read and understand Korean and respond to the questionnaire 3. Classified as having 'normal' cognitive function on the Cognitive Impairment Screening Test (CIST), based on age- and education-adjusted norms 4. Understood the purpose of the study and voluntarily agreed to participate

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Currently participating, or having participated within the past 3 months, in a diabetes self-management education or health literacy program at another institution 2. Diagnosed with a mental illness such as depression
