Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Adults aged 19 to 50 years 2. Positive on the Phalen test 3. Positive on the Durkan compression test 4. Able to understand the study explanation and provide voluntary written informed consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Visible atrophy of the thenar eminence 2. History of corticosteroid injection or surgery in the carpal tunnel region within the past 3 months 3. History of upper-limb injury such as wrist fracture or trauma 4. Systemic or neurological disease that may affect median nerve symptoms, such as cervical radiculopathy, or diabetic or thyroid peripheral neuropathy 5. Pregnancy, or systemic disease that may affect hand/wrist symptoms such as rheumatoid arthritis

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Elbow extension angle on the upper limb neurodynamic test 1 (ULNT1), measured at the first onset of pain (P1) and the point of tolerance (PTol). A larger angle indicates greater neural mobility and lower mechanical sensitivity.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Manual dexterity measured by the Purdue Pegboard, scored as the number of pins placed within the allotted time; a higher score indicates better fine motor dexterity.;Tripod (three-jaw chuck) pinch strength (lb) measured with a hydraulic pinch gauge, using maximal effort between the thumb and the index and middle fingers.;Two-point discrimination (mm) measured with a two-point discriminator, defined as the minimum distance at which two points can be distinguished; a smaller value indicates finer tactile spatial discrimination.
