Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1) Completed participation in the parent cohort study. 2) Diagnosed with Stage III or higher periodontitis according to the Tonetti classification in the parent cohort study. 3) Community-dwelling adults aged 40–64 years. 4) Having at least 20 natural teeth (fewer than 8 dental implants). 5) Able to use a smartphone.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) Pregnant women. 2) Users of complete or partial dentures. 3) Use of antibiotics within the previous 6 months. 4) Diagnosed with diabetes mellitus. 5) Current smokers. 6) Planned dental treatment during the study period. 7) History of cancer, cardiovascular disease, or autoimmune disease.
