Behavioral : Participants are randomly assigned in a 1:1 ratio to either the Direct Instruction Group or the Discovery Learning Group. Both groups receive identical Korean Advanced Life Support (KALS)

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: • New graduate nurses with less than one year of clinical experience working at a general hospital in Incheon, Republic of Korea. • Individuals who voluntarily provided written informed consent after receiving an explanation of the study. • Individuals who had not completed a cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) simulation training program with the same educational content within the previous three months.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: • Individuals who had completed a cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) simulation training program with the same educational content within the previous three months. • Individuals who were unable to safely participate in CPR simulation training because of an acute illness, injury, or other health-related conditions on the study day.
