Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients visiting the Department of Periodontology for examination and treatment of periodontal disease Patients diagnosed with severe chronic periodontitis (Stage III & Stage IV) based on clinical and radiographic findings Patients with teeth showing clinical attachment loss (CAL) = 5 mm at interproximal sites Patients with radiographic bone loss extending to the middle third of the root or beyond Patients with a history of tooth extraction due to periodontal disease Patients who voluntarily provide written informed consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with intellectual disabilities Patients with depression, panic disorder, or other psychiatric disorders Patients with uncontrolled periodontal disease Patients who are unable to understand or respond to the questionnaire

MeasureTime frame
The Visual Analog Scale (VAS) score for the statement, “I want to preserve my natural teeth as much as possible”

Responses to all other questionnaire items excluding the primary outcome item(oral health status, ability to eat, dietary changes, speaking ability, sleep, productivity, confidence, smiling, social participation, aesthetic satisfaction, oral pain, dry mouth, sensitivity, stage of dental caries, stage of periodontal disease, bleeding on probing, complications within the past month, and patient preferences related to decision-making for tooth extraction)
