Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1) Adults aged 30–70 years 2) Patients admitted to a general hospital ward with a first-ever diagnosis of cerebral infarction, unspecified (ICD-10, code I63.9) 3) Mild stroke patients with a baseline National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) score of less than 10 4) Patients with no prior experience of receiving structured stroke-related self-care education 5) Patients who have no communication difficulties, understand the purpose of this study, and provide written informed consent to participate in the survey.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) Patients with a history of prior ischemic or hemorrhagic stroke (recurrent stroke cases) 2) Patients who received invasive treatments, such as mechanical thrombectomy or surgical interventions 3) Individuals with a professional or academic medical, nursing, or healthcare background 4) Patients with the presence of cognitive impairment or active psychiatric illness that hinders appropriate response to the survey.
