Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Among patients at the Department of Neurology, Chonnam National University Hospital, adult patients aged 18 or older with acute cerebral infarction confirmed via Brain Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) performed upon visiting the hospital due to acute ischemic stroke symptoms, who meet the following criteria: 1. Patients who visited the hospital within 3 days of symptom onset and received inpatient treatment 2. Patients with accompanied occlusion or severe stenosis of major cerebral arteries 3. Patients who consent to the SPECT examination

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with uncontrolled severe underlying diseases that could affect the prognosis of stroke, who meet any of the following criteria:Patients with a creatinine level of 3.0mg/dL or higher on blood tests Patients with liver cirrhosis of Child-Pugh Class B or worsePatients with an active malignant tumor currently under treatment

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Early neurological deterioration (END) and clinical improvement based on initial Basal SPECT imaging parameter values (measured by NIHSS score);Prognosis of daily living performance and neurological functional disability at 3 months post-onset (measured by mRS score);Occurrence of recurrent ischemic stroke, transient ischemic attack (TIA), and vascular death during the 3-month follow-up period

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Early Neurological Deterioration (END);Early Mortality (EM);Hemorrhagic Transformation (HT);Early Clinical Improvement (CI);Recurrent Ischemic Stroke;Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA);Vascular death
