Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: - Children aged 3 to 18 years who visited the Pediatric Dentistry outpatient clinic at Yonsei University Dental Hospital and for whom both parental consent and the child’s own assent/cooperation were obtained. - Participants who were able to undergo QLF imaging of the anterior and posterior teeth and had at least one interproximal site available for dental plaque collection. - Participants whose target teeth showed suspected localized demineralization or early caries but did not require immediate treatment due to severe pain or other urgent symptoms. - Participants who were systemically healthy and had no chronic diseases that could affect the oral microbial environment.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - Individuals with no available site for dental plaque collection. - Individuals with orthodontic appliances, such as brackets, attached to the interproximal area of the target tooth, making floss insertion difficult. - Individuals who are unable to cooperate with QLF imaging or interproximal dental plaque collection, or who have difficulty with behavior management.
