Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Participants were required to meet the following criteria for inclusion in the study: - Age and Gender: Male or female adults aged 20 years or older. - Diagnosis: Diagnosed with chronic carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS), with symptoms persisting for at least 3 months. - Pain Intensity: A baseline wrist pain intensity of 3 or higher on the Visual Analog Scale (VAS). - Functional Limitation: Self-reported restrictions in the functional movement of the wrist joint due to pain. - Physical Capability: Ability to undergo upper extremity functional assessments and perform the prescribed exercise protocols.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Participants were excluded from the study if they met any of the following criteria: - Bone Health: Diagnosis of severe osteoporosis. - Inflammatory Status: Presence of acute inflammatory responses in the wrist or surrounding tissues. - Hypersensitivity: A clinical history of allergies or hypersensitivity reactions to muscle compression or any of the intervention modalities used in the study. - Severity of Condition: Patients with severe carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) for whom immediate surgical intervention is indicated. - Differential Diagnosis: Presence of other neurological disorders that may influence upper extremity pain, such as cervical radiculopathy or thoracic outlet syndrome. - Concomitant or Recent Treatment: Having received or currently receiving active treatments—including corticosteroid injections, surgery, or physical therapy—for the wrist or upper extremities within the past 4 weeks.
