Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: -Adults aged 18 years or older -Symptomatic malignant colorectal obstruction in which SEMS placement was attempted for palliation -Obstruction caused by pathologically confirmed extracolonic malignancy -SEMS procedure attempted at Severance Hospital between January 2006 and December 2018 -Sufficient baseline clinical, procedural, and short-term outcome data (within 2 weeks after the procedure) available in the electronic medical records

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: -Colorectal obstruction caused by primary colorectal cancer -Colorectal obstruction due to benign conditions (e.g., inflammatory stricture, adhesions, ischemic colitis) -Patients referred after SEMS placement performed at an outside institution -Incomplete baseline, procedural, or 2-week outcome data precluding assessment of clinical failure
