Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Patients presenting with a chief complaint of shoulder pain who underwent both an MRI of the affected shoulder and a true anteroposterior (AP) X-ray of the ipsilateral shoulder on the same day, and who had the presence and severity of a rotator cuff tear evaluated by an orthopedic surgeon or a radiologist based on the MRI findings.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: (2) Exclusion Criteria ? Patients with fractures or dislocations due to high-energy trauma, or lesions requiring surgical fixation. ? Patients with a history of previous surgery on the ipsilateral shoulder (including joint arthroplasty). ? Patients with infectious or neoplastic lesions, or rheumatologic diseases involving the shoulder. ? Patients with advanced glenohumeral osteoarthritis (Kellgren–Lawrence grade = 2). ? Patients for whom imaging assessment is difficult due to an obvious primary cause of pain other than the rotator cuff (e.g., the acute phase of a frozen shoulder).
