Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1) Adults aged 50 to 85 years 2) Diagnosis of mild neurocognitive disorder according to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM-5) criteria 3) MoCA-K score of 22 or lower 4) SGDS score less than 10 5) Capacity to provide informed consent assessed using the Korean version of the Capacity-to-Consent Screen, with written informed consent obtained from the participant or, where applicable, their legally authorized representative

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) Individuals with a history of major psychiatric disorders, such as schizophrenia, delusional disorder, bipolar disorder, or alcohol- or substance-related disorders 2) Individuals with a history of diseases causing structural brain abnormalities, such as intracerebral hemorrhage, cerebral infarction, brain tumors, or subarachnoid hemorrhage, as well as epilepsy or Parkinson’s disease 3) Individuals with gastrointestinal disorders, such as gastritis or peptic ulcer disease that are difficult to manage or are not adequately controlled by diet or medication, endocrine disorders, such as thyroid dysfunction, or cardiovascular diseases, such as hypertension 4) Severely unstable medical condition, as determined by the attending physician on the basis of medical history and vital signs 5) Contraindications to MRI: claustrophobia or implanted metallic medical devices or materials that make MRI unsafe or infeasible; non-magnetic dental prostheses, orthodontic appliances, implants, and artificial joints confirmed to be MRI-safe will not be considered exclusionary 6) Pregnant or lactating women 7) Any other condition that, in the investigator’s judgment, makes the individual unsuitable for study participation
