Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Eligible participants were nurses working in inpatient units at a university-affiliated tertiary hospital who met all of the following criteria: 1) Registered nurses currently employed in inpatient wards 2) Having at least one year of clinical nursing experience 3) Willing to participate in the study and providing informed consent
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Participants were excluded if they met any of the following criteria: 1) Having less than one year of clinical nursing experience 2) Previous work experience in palliative or hospice care units 3) A history of serious medical conditions (e.g., cancer or severe cardiovascular disease) 4) Holding a formal certification related to communication or having received training in motivational interviewing (MI)
