Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: i) Adults aged 20–65 years undergoing thyroidectomy ii) American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) physical status classification I–II

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) Patients with severe systemic disease classified as American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) physical status = III 2) Known hypersensitivity or allergy to the anesthetic agents used in the study 3) Presence of recent symptoms due to an upper respiratory tract infection 4) Current or recent use of steroids or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) 5) History of difficult airway or difficult endotracheal intubation 6) Obesity with a body mass index (BMI) > 30 kg/m² or underweight with a BMI < 20 kg/m² 7) Pregnant or breastfeeding women 8) Patients with intellectual disability or neurological disorders
