Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Adult patients aged 18 years or older. Patients who underwent orthognathic surgery at the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Pusan National University Dental Hospital between 2012 and 2024. Surgery performed by a single experienced surgeon to ensure procedural consistency. Patients with evaluable Body Mass Index (BMI) data and complete postoperative follow-up records in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with congenital craniofacial deformities (e.g., cleft lip and palate, syndromic conditions). Patients undergoing surgery for maxillofacial deformities resulting from trauma or accidents. Orthognathic surgery combined with reconstruction after pathologic fractures or tumor resection. Patients with incomplete medical records that preclude the assessment of postoperative complications.
