Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 130 adult patients aged 55 years or older undergoing planned major surgery at Pusan ??National University Hospital

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - Preexisting neuropsychiatric disorders: major depressive disorder, schizophrenia, dementia, Alzheimer's disease - History of cerebrovascular disease - MMSE score 19 or lower - Severe hepatic/renal dysfunction (Child-Pugh class C, eGFR < 30 ml/min/1.73 m²) - Communication impairment due to visual/auditory impairment - Emergency surgery - Refusal to participate in the study
