Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: The inclusion criteria were individuals with hemiparetic stroke within six months of onset who had preserved cognitive function, defined as a Korean version of the Mini-Mental State Examination score of 24 points or higher, and who were able to maintain an independent sitting position without assistance. Trunk function was further limited to participants with a Trunk Impairment Scale score of less than 21 points, and motor recovery was restricted to those with a Brunnstrom recovery stage of less than stage 4. Functional disability and activities of daily living status were defined as a modified Rankin Scale score of 4 points or higher. In addition, participants were required to be able to understand the investigator’s verbal instructions and follow simple commands.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: The exclusion criteria were as follows: individuals who did not provide consent; those with a diagnosis of stroke whose onset was more than six months prior; those unable to maintain an independent sitting position; and those with severe hemispatial neglect, sensory neuropathy, orthopedic problems, or a history of related surgery.
