Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Periodontitis Group: Moderate to severe periodontitis. Maximum Clinical Attachment Loss (CAL) > 5mm. Radiographic evidence of bone loss in 5 or more teeth. Healthy Group: Clinically healthy periodontal tissue. Probing Pocket Depth (PPD) = 3mm. No Clinical Attachment Loss (CAL).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Individuals who have taken anti-inflammatory or immunosuppressive medications within the last 3 months. Individuals who received antibiotic treatment within the last 6 months or periodontal treatment (scaling and root planing) within the last 3 months. Patients with uncontrolled systemic diseases. Pregnant women or women planning to become pregnant. Patients with cardiovascular, respiratory, renal, hepatic, gastrointestinal, hematological, or neuropsychiatric disorders. Patients with thyroid diseases (hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism). Individuals with a history of oral malignant tumors. Patients with other oral inflammatory diseases, including oral cancer, ulcers, herpes simplex, herpes zoster, or fungal/bacterial infections. Individuals with a history of drug or alcohol abuse within the last year.
