Interventions

Drug : During maintenance of anesthesia with sevoflurane and remifentanil after induction, patients in the nefopam group receive 20 mg of nefopam diluted in 100 ml of normal saline infused at 400 ml/h

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1) Undergoing transurethral resection of bladder tumor 2) American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) physical status classification I and II

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: i) Patients with known allergy to the study drugs ii) Patients with urinary retention or overactive bladder (voiding more than 3 times per night or more than 8 times per 24 hours) iii) Patients with a history of epilepsy, seizure, myocardial infarction, arrhythmia, heart failure, renal or hepatic disease, or current use of monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitors iv) Patients with angle-closure glaucoma v) Patients with a history of drug or alcohol abuse vi) Patients receiving opioid or sedative therapy vii) Patients with hypersensitivity to the anesthetic agents used in the study viii) Patients with morbid obesity (body mass index > 30 kg/m²) ix) Pregnant or breastfeeding women
