Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Adults aged 20–100 scheduled for video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery under general anesthesia 2. Able and willing to provide informed consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Age 100 years 2. Pregnant or breastfeeding women 3. Known allergy or hypersensitivity to fentanyl or related medications 4. Morbid obesity (BMI = 35 kg/m²) 5. Anticipated need for postoperative mechanical ventilation 6. High risk of intraoperative continuous bleeding 7. Severe pulmonary dysfunction or abnormal pulmonary function test requiring intervention 8. Cognitive impairment or inability to communicate effectively 9. Expected need for positive airway pressure therapy (e.g., NIPPV) in PACU 10. ASA physical status = IV 11. Planned postoperative ICU admission 12. Refusal to participate in the study 13. Any other condition deemed inappropriate for participation by the investigator
