Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: The inclusion criteria were as follows: patients who had been diagnosed with schizophrenia for more than two years, whose antipsychotic medication regimen remained unchanged from two weeks prior to the pre-test through the post-test, and who were deemed capable of understanding, reading, and responding to the questionnaires as well as communicating effectively.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: The exclusion criteria included a history or current diagnosis of brain injury, organic mental disorders, or developmental disorders; significant visual or auditory impairments; physical illnesses associated with speech disorders or other physical abnormalities; and a history or suspicion of alcohol dependence or other substance abuse.
