Interventions

Dietary Supplement : The prototype containing 3 g of Shingo pear ethanol extract /sachet was administered once daily (1 sachet / day
3 g of pear extract /10 g sachet) for 8 weeks. Participants were randomized according to a computer generated randomization list.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: ?Adults age 40-75 years old ?Have quit smoking less than 3 months prior to the start of the study ?Those who have had respiratory symptoms such as cough and phlegm for more than 1 month. (However, even if you have symptoms of chronic lung disease based on imaging tests [x-rays], etc. and do not require regular medication)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: ?Current smoker ?Asthma, chronic inflammation, or systemic infection in the past 3 months ?People with liver or heart disease ?Pregnant or nursing mothers ?Taking medicines (antidiabetic drugs, etc.) ?Alcohol intake > 30 g/day for men and > 20 g/day for women ?Consumption of dietary supplements related to respiratory health or pear-based foods within 2 weeks prior to the start of the study. ?Participant in another clinical trial within the last 3 months ?Any other person judged by the investigator to be unsuitable for the study.
