Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion Criteria Participants were required to meet the following criteria: Parents who understood the purpose of the study and voluntarily consented to participate. Parents living with and providing care for young adult children diagnosed with a major mental disorder (bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, or major depressive disorder). In this study, young adulthood was defined as 19–34 years of age, in accordance with the Youth Basic Act

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Parents diagnosed with a major mental disorder (bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, or major depressive disorder) and currently receiving treatment were excluded from the study.
