Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Very low birth weight infants (VLBWIs) with a gestational age of less than 32 weeks or a birth weight under 1500 g, born at Seoul National University Hospital and admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), and their mothers.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: When the parents refuse the collection of breast milk samples When the infant is transferred from another hospital When the infant dies within 24 hours after birth When the parents do not provide consent
