Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Age: Participants must be 60 years of age or older to ensure that the study subjects are the elderly group. 2. Functional ankle instability: Participants should have functional ankle instability (e.g., a history of ankle sprain with recurrent ankle instability) requiring self-report or clinical diagnosis. 3. Physical condition: Participants must be able to walk independently without other diseases (e.g., severe osteoarthritis, neurological disease, etc.) that have serious effects on balance and motor capacity to ensure the safety and efficiency of experimental interventions.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Severe cardiopulmonary disease or metabolic disease: If participants have severe heart disease, lung disease, or metabolic disease (e.g., uncontrolled diabetes), these health problems can limit motor capacity or increase the risk of participation in the experiment. 2. Recent surgical history or acute injury: having undergone lower extremity surgery within the last 6 months or having acute ankle joint or other lower extremity damage (fracture, severe muscle damage, etc.), which hinders experimental results or increases the risk of participants. 3. Cognitive impairment or mental illness: if there is moderate or higher cognitive impairment (such as Alzheimer's disease) or an effectively uncontrolled mental illness (such as severe depression or schizophrenia), this situation may affect participants' ability to follow experimental procedures and complete relevant assessments.
