Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: The selection criteria were as follows: patients who had been diagnosed with stroke for more than 6 months; able to use an iPhone or Apple Watch; free of arrhythmia, hypertension, diabetes, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, congestive heart failure, unstable angina, peripheral arterial disease, orthopedic disease, depression, etc.; a Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE-K) score of 24 or higher; able to walk independently for 10 m; a Functional Ambulation Categories score of 4 or higher; able to walk for more than 6 minutes with or without an assistive device (ankle brace only); a Berg Balance Scale score of 41 or higher; a Functional Reach Test score of 25 cm or higher; and patients whose and their guardians understood the purpose of this study and agreed to participate in the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria included those who could not perform high-intensity interval training or moderate-intensity continuous training, those taking medications that could interfere with neuromuscular control, or those who could not perform exercise stress testing.
