Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (1) patients aged over 20 years old (2) patients requiring guided bone regeneration for horizontal bone defects either prior to or during implant placement (3) patients who consented to participate in the study after being fully informed.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) patients with severe cardiovascular, immunological, or infectious conditions (2) patients with uncontrolled diabetes, defined by a fasting blood glucose level of 180 mg/dL or higher (3) patients with complex type of bone defects requiring augmentation in both horizontal and vertical dimensions (4) patients who did not attend the stitch-out appointment two weeks after surgery.
