Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: - Adult patients (aged 19 years or older) who voluntarily agree to participate in this study. - Patients visiting the Department of Advanced General Dentistry at Yonsei University Dental Hospital for outpatient treatment. - Patients with bilateral impacted mandibular third molars, where panoramic radiographs confirm similar position and surgical difficulty on both sides. - Patients requiring extraction of third molars classified as Pell and Gregory Level B, Class II, and Winter’s Mesioangular or Horizontal angulation. - Patients with normal hearing ability in both ears.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - Patients with systemic diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, or osteoporosis. - Patients with cardiovascular diseases or those with an implanted pacemaker or implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD). - Patients with autonomic nervous system disorders. - Smokers. - Patients with hearing impairment. - Patients with mental disorders or psychological health issues. - Patients who have undergone third molar extraction or other oral and maxillofacial surgery within the past six months. - Patients who are uncooperative during dental treatment. - Individuals lacking decision-making capacity, including those with cognitive disabilities. - Pregnant or breastfeeding women, and minors (under 19 years old). - Patients who withdraw consent from the study. - Any other cases deemed inappropriate for the study by the clinician’s judgment.
