Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1)PFP group (1) presence of anterior or retro-patellar knee pain (2) Visual Analog Pain Scale (VAS) score of 3 or higher (3) pain during activities such as ascending and descending stairs, squatting, kneeling, jumping, prolonged sitting with the knees flexed, isometric knee extension contraction at 60° of knee flexion, and pain on palpation of the medial and/or lateral facet of the patella. At least two of these criteria had to be met if the activity reported pain (4) positive sign of Clarke test 2)Non-PFP group (1) Participants who do not meet the criteria for the PFP group.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: The exclusion criteria included previous lower extremity surgery or significant injury, as well as clinical evidence of meniscal lesions, ligamentous instability, chondral damage, and osteoarthritis.
