Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: The participants of this study were elderly individuals residing in a single senior community who had not engaged in regular exercise for six months. They were selected based on the absence of musculoskeletal issues and any specific diseases other than metabolic syndrome or fatty liver. Participants completed a basic health questionnaire, and measurements were conducted to determine the criteria for diagnosing metabolic syndrome. Additionally, upper abdominal ultrasound examinations were performed to confirm fatty liver, and only those diagnosed with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) were included in the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Participants were excluded from the study if they had been engaging in regular exercise for more than six months, had musculoskeletal issues severe enough to prevent walking, or had specific diseases other than metabolic syndrome or non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD).
