Interventions

Medical Device : Twenty patients of control group had conventional physiotherapy and twenty patients of study group had additional robotic intervention for 30 minutes/day, 5 days/week for 3 months.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1) Confirmed diagnosis of chronic stroke as defined by radiologic examinations; 2) Post-stroke duration of = 12 months; 3) Unilateral hemiplegia; 4) Hip and knee manual muscle strength above the poor grade(Medical research council grade > 2); 5) No change of clinical score in screening assessments for two months prior to baseline assessment; 6) Ability to follow simple instructions including how to operate a robotic system (Korean version of Mini-Mental State Examination > 24); 7) Voluntary consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) Severe orthopedic or neuropsychological problems(e.g., neglect); 2) Excessive spasticity in the lower limbs (Modified Ashworth Scale score > 2); 3) Severe lower limb pain.
