Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: The participants of this study do not include individuals who meet the diagnostic criteria for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). However, the study targets individuals who have experienced disasters, such as natural disasters. The specific criteria are as follows: Disaster-Affected Residents or Disaster Response Personnel: Disaster-Affected Residents: This group includes individuals who have lived in or are currently residing in areas designated as special disaster zones due to damage from wildfires, typhoons, heavy rain, or other natural disasters. Disaster Response Personnel: This group includes individuals who have participated in disaster response efforts, such as firefighters, police officers, military personnel, and other support staff affiliated with a fire department or involved in responding to disasters like wildfires or floods. All participants must have experienced the relevant disaster within the past five years. No additional screening procedures will be conducted. Young Adults Experiencing Social Isolation: This group includes young adults who have reduced social activity and are experiencing a decrease in social engagement, leading to feelings of social isolation. Social isolation will be screened using a loneliness scale, with a score of 6 or higher (indicating an above-average level of loneliness) as the criterion, or by recruiting young adults from the community who report experiencing subjective feelings of isolation.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria for this study are as follows: Individuals with physical disabilities that impede participation in forest therapy activities (e.g., those requiring the use of a wheelchair). Individuals with cognitive impairments or neurological abnormalities that prevent them from completing questionnaires. Individuals experiencing severe suicidal ideation or mental health conditions at the level of PTSD. For this group, hospitalization or psychiatric consultation is recommended instead of participation in this study, and they have therefore been designated as exclusion criteria.
