Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: The subjects of this study are patients who underwent shoulder surgery under general anesthesia and interscalene block in a beach chair position. The patient group who corresponds to the American Society of Anesthesiologist Class I-III, and who consents to participate in the study are included in the study.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: American Society of Anesthesiologist Class IV or higher, heart failure, cardiovascular disease, cardiac output less than 40%, arrhythmia, pulmonary hypertension, uncontrolled hypertension, pacemaker implantation, angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor or Patients taking angiotensin-2 receptor blockers, hypovolemia before surgery, hypotension (mean arterial pressure less than 65 mmHg), patients taking vasopressors, patients on dialysis, autonomic nervous system disease, or psychiatric disorders Patients, who cannot measure the quadriceps muscle thickness in the case of non-indicative indications for quadriceps nerve block (blood coagulation disorder, injection site infection, neurological disorder of the operating arm, diaphragmatic paralysis, allergy to local anesthetics).
Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| As a Frailty evaluation method, the degree to which questionnaire-type evaluation and quadriceps evaluation results predict the occurrence of hypotension after changing to a beach chair position | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| The ability of the quadriceps muscle thickness measured by ultrasound to discriminate the frailty ;Correlation between the thicknessof the quadriceps and frailty with changes in hemodynamic variables when the occurrence of hypotension. | — |
